Values – passion, integrity
On Wednesday 16 March, WGEA announced that UOW Global Enterprises and UOW College Australia, has once again been recognised as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) by the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA). This marks 21 consecutive years that we have held the Citation.
The Citation process is designed to encourage, recognise and promote active commitment to achieving gender equality in Australian workplaces. It is a voluntary leading practice program with 104 organisations Australia-wide, and just 7 from our sector, meeting the high standards and rigorous assessment process required to become an EOCGE citation holder.
Gender equality is a factor critical to our success. It is considered a baseline feature of well-managed and leading organisations. The Citation is an evidence based approach, based on research that supports that groups with diverse perspectives and flexibility in thinking almost always outperform homogenous groups.
UOWGE CEO Marisa Mastroianni, “I am personally committed to gender equality and achieving the Citation is a testament to UOWGE’s two decades of commitment and action taken to achieve gender equality.
We have worked extremely hard to maintain this Citation and our achievement this time round is particularly notable, given the challenges we’ve faced over the past two years. It is yet another display of what we can do when we use our Values – Excellence, Collaboration, Innovation, Integrity, Passion and Courage, guide what we do.
Achievement of this Citation would not have been possible without the commitment of staff across our group who have championed or contributed to our DEI initiatives and programs, special thank you to Carlie Sulter, our People and Culture Manager.”
