As we lead up to the 2024 Employee of the Year event, to be held in Dubai in on 30 April we would like to introduce you to our Employee of the Year Finalists:
Dr Hitoshi MURAKAMI from Hong Kong
Dr. Murakami, has been a valued member of the College and CCCU since 1998, and is an esteemed educator known for his engaging and effective teaching in Japanese language, culture, and East Asian popular culture. He creates a dynamic classroom environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves, fostering a genuine joy for learning. His consistently high TLQ scores -above 5 on a 6-point scale reflect his inspiring approach, meticulous preparation, and clear, well-organized materials. Beyond the classroom, he motivates colleagues, organizes co-curricular activities like internships and the Japan Summer Study Tour, and remains highly accessible to students. Dr. Murakami’s dedication, passion, and commitment to student success make him a truly inspiring educator.
Jimmy Tan Lip Aun of Malaysia
Mr. Jimmy Tan is an outstanding staff member who exemplifies excellence and courage as a Project Lead at UOW Malaysia, particularly for UOW Malaysia KDU Penang University College. As a Head of Department, he provides exceptional operational support to his teams, peers, and students. His innovative approach to system solutions and commitment to integrity make him a key contributor to the institution. Beyond his role, he has cultivated a collaborative work environment by rallying his team and mentoring colleagues through training sessions and workshops, equipping them with essential IT skills. His ability to bring people together, facilitate knowledge-sharing, and drive collective success has strengthened teamwork and cross-functional cooperation.
Dr Anjli Narwani of Dubai
Dr Anjli not only personifies courage, she inspires it. Joining the University at a time where there was a lot of uncertainty, she has been able to set and achieve impressive milestones such as creating a new department centered on student satisfaction. She is also creating an environment that ensures that students with differentiated learning needs are getting the help and support they need. She is an incredible leader, lecturer and mentor.
Abbie Worthington of Australia
Mrs Abbie Worthington has consistently demonstrated outstanding professionalism, leadership, and a commitment to excellence in all her endeavours. Her remarkable ability to manage complex projects and collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders has been instrumental in achieving outstanding results. Her proactive approach, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills have significantly enhanced our operations, setting a high standard for others to follow.
