WGEA employer statement 2026

At UOW College Australia (UOWCA), we are committed to creating a workplace where all employees, regardless of gender, have equitable access to opportunities, rewards, and career progression. This commitment is longstanding and sustained, reflected in our recognition as a Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Employer of Choice for Gender Equality for twenty-three consecutive years.

As part of our commitment to transparency and accountability, we publish our gender pay gap data annually through WGEA. Our 2024–2025 results demonstrate continued progress in reducing gender‑based pay differences across our workforce, while also highlighting areas where we will continue to focus our efforts.

For the 2024 reporting period, UOWCA’s total remuneration average gender pay gap increased from to -3.9% to -0.5%. This result is well below the higher education industry benchmark of +12.3% and represents a meaningful step toward our objective of maintaining a gender pay gap below the WGEA target of 5%.

We are also proud to report that our median base salary gender pay gap remains at 0.0%, significantly lower than the industry benchmark of +3.7%. Our median total remuneration gender pay gap is 0.0%, compared with an industry benchmark of +5.6%. These outcomes reflect the effectiveness of our remuneration governance, job evaluation, and pay equity practices.

These results align with and demonstrate the successful delivery of the objectives in our Gender Equality Strategy, which focus on equitable remuneration outcomes, inclusive workforce practices, and leadership accountability for gender equality.

We recognise that improving gender equality is an ongoing journey. Our 2024–2025 results will directly inform our next strategic phase for 2025–2026, including a review of our employee value proposition, remuneration and benefits frameworks, recruitment practices, and flexible working arrangements. These actions are designed to ensure our policies and practices continue to support gender equity and enable our employees to balance work with other life commitments.

At UOWCA, we remain committed to fostering an inclusive and respectful workplace where all employees feel valued and have equal opportunities to succeed.
