Happy New Year everyone!

I hope you all enjoyed a well-earned and restful break, spending quality time with family and friends, and are feeling refreshed as we begin what promises to be an exciting year ahead.

Once again that thank you to everyone for your dedication and hard work throughout 2025. I am deeply grateful for the passion and commitment you bring to your roles every day whether at, UOW College Australia, UOW Dubai, UOW Malaysia, UOW College Hong Kong, UOW India or UOW Global Enterprises.

This year presents new opportunities for growth and innovation across our network. I am particularly excited about expanding into new markets and increasing international student numbers across several campuses. There are also a number of positive changes planned for the year ahead, and I look forward to working together to achieve these goals.

2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse in the Chinese Zodiac (beginning on 17 February). Occurring only once every 60 years, it is associated with energy, freedom and forward momentum - symbolising transformation, bold action and significant growth. It certainly feels like a fitting theme for the year ahead at UOWGE.

As always, our greatest strength lies in our shared values. Let’s continue to support one another, collaborate openly and strive for excellence in everything we do.

NEW YEAR MESSAGES FROM OUR CAMPUSES

UOWC AUSTRALIA

As we begin this new year, I want to congratulate Hannah Ostwald, our Employee of the Year, and all other award nominees and recipients from the 2025 Staff Awards Night. Celebrating our achievements reminds us of the incredible talent and dedication that we are surrounded by at UOW College and Global Enterprises. It was uplifting to see colleagues come together and cheer on the successes of their peers,

Looking ahead to 2026, if the previous years are anything to go by, it will be a year of change and challenge, but also of opportunity, growth and innovation. We have already welcomed many new ELICOS students; Autumn enrolments are looking stable, and Nursing continues to thrive. Early signs for improved international student enrolments are promising (assuming visas are granted), and the new UOW Liverpool campus sets the stage for an excellent student experience. This year, we will embrace new opportunities, strengthen global engagement, and leverage technology to help us work smarter and achieve our goals. While the landscape is as competitive as it ever has been, our shared commitment to excellence and collaboration, coupled with our passion for, and dedication to, what we do, will see that we achieve many successes in 2026.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all colleagues in UOW Global Enterprises and UOW College Hong Kong for your support over the past year.  We are also grateful to those colleagues in other campuses who took super good care of our students when they went on study tours to these places.

As we step into 2026, I would like to extend my warmest wishes to each of you for a year of good health, fulfilment, and continued success. The year ahead holds several important milestones for UOW India, and I am confident that, together, we will continue to build with purpose, discipline, and integrity. There is much to look forward to in the months ahead, including a defining moment in February 2026 when we celebrate our very first graduating cohort—an achievement that reflects the dedication and professionalism of our entire team.  In addition, we will have the privilege of hosting senior University leadership in the coming weeks, including our Vice-Chancellor, CEO, Executive Director, and Global Dean of Academic Affairs. These engagements, alongside our academic and operational milestones, underscore the confidence the University places in UOW India and the strategic importance of what we are building together
