The School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts (SHTCA) at UOW Malaysia Penang recently showcased its culinary excellence at Culinaire Malaysia 2023.
This event, held alongside the Food & Hotel Malaysia 2023 exhibition at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 19 to 22 September 2023, saw participation from over 1,200 contestants and involved 100 experienced international judges.
Guided by their culinary mentors Chef Chuah Lay Yen, Chef Darren Tan, and Chef Aravin, the SHTCA team achieved remarkable success. The team's dedication and skill were rewarded with an impressive haul of medals – 1 Gold, 2 Silver, and 5 Bronze – placing them prominently in the culinary spotlight. This achievement is a testament to the hard work and talent of both the students and their mentors.
