On 18 November the 1st anniversary of the renaming of KDU to the UOW Malaysia KDU group of institutions was marked with a virtual celebration.
The anniversary was an important milestone in the development of UOW Malaysia KDU and presented an opportunity for both celebration and reflection upon how far we have come in the last year.
The last year has been a period of transformation for the three UOW Malaysia KDU institutions, located across the four campus network. The pandemic has not stalled transformation plans with significant advances made in brand building, enhancement of academic quality and student experience, and engagement with important stakeholders. In addition, in January 2020 the new Batu Kawan campus commenced operations in the northern state of Penang.
At the heart of UOW Malaysia KDU is our people. Through people-to-people engagement on transformation projects, both within Malaysia and across the UOWGE global network, the identity as one UOW Malaysia KDU, part of the University of Wollongong Global Network, is being built. Through joining hands with virtual exchanges across the global network our identity is being forged in the face of the global challenges we all face. Ms Jennifer Ng, UOWGE CEO Asia and UOWMKDU CEO, in a message to staff took the opportunity as part of the anniversary celebrations to thank staff, “for so readily adapting to the new situation within which we find ourselves, and I look forward to working with you to build UOW Malaysia KDU to be institutions delivering a transformational experience for our students.”
As part of the celebrations all UOW Malaysia KDU staff received a UOW Malaysia KDU branded face mask. The smiles could be seen in their eyes as together we build UOW Malaysia KDU to become universities of choice within both Malaysia and the region.
