Values: passion, innovation
The UOW College Hong Kong marketing team has been hard at work in anticipation of the 2022 Admission Exercise following the release of Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE). Results are due in late July.
A Parents’ Day was held on 18 June at the Kowloon City campus to give an introduction of academic programmes on offer at the College. Speakers at the seminar also shared useful tips on how to improve students’ capabilities in critical thinking and grasping of key topics in their studies. There was a lively discussion with parents on the difficulties that Hong Kong youngsters face, as well as an introduction to the UOWCHK’s vision, educational objectives, high-quality learning facilities, and opportunities for further studies. Two alumni of the College, Miss Pollileri Haritha and Miss Athena Ngan, who received admission offers from City University of Hong Kong and the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology respectively, shared their learning experiences with the audience.
UOWCHK Outdoor advertising
Also in the works is another outdoor advertisement on an iconic vehicle of Hong Kong – HK Tramways. Trams have been plying the streets of Hong Kong Island since 1904, and nowadays several routes run from Kennedy Town on the western side of Hong Kong Island to Shau Kei Wan in the east. Visitors to Hong Kong easily recognize the “ding-ding” chimes of the trams. The full-bodied painted double-decker tram bearing the logo of the College and UOW branding will start running in July for four weeks. It is the first time that the College has used a public transport vehicle on the Island for promotion, following the success of using a double decker bus for publicity in the Kowloon peninsula.
Promoting UOWCHK
Apart from these activities, the College has also produced some videos using artificial intelligence tools available on the market for promoting individual academic programmes, including Accounting, Banking and Financial Technology, and Human Resources Management. Based on information supplied by our teachers who are in the best position to highlight the salient points in their own programmes, the short videos of about 2-minute duration have uploaded on social media Youtube.
