A fully simulated Nursing laboratory has been built to transform the student experience for Vocational Programs.
Students will now have the opportunity to practice and develop skills more regularly using industry current facilities and equipment in a hospital setting. The official SimLab opening was held Tuesday, 8 December 2020 where Marisa Mastroianni, Group CEO commended the Vocational Team on ANMAC (Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council) approval to use the facility on the first application. Liz Thomas, RTO Manager went on to thank the many people involved in the SimLab project including Felix Lanceley, Louise Silvestri, Pierre Miquel, and in particular Melissa Russel and the Nursing Trainers. A special mention goes to Uniting Mayflower Gerringong for donating many items providing tremendous financial assistance by allowing the purchase of additional high quality equipment.
