WGEA employer statement

At UOW Global Enterprises (UOWGE) we take great pride in our longstanding recognition as a Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Employer of Choice for Gender Equality.  We have held this citation since 2002, this prestigious citation highlights our commitment to fostering an environment where all employees, regardless of gender, can thrive and reach their full potential.

In 2023 WGEA introduced new key indicators. These are the median total remuneration which we are very proud to announce a 0.0% pay gap (industry comparison 16.4%) and a median base salary where we achieved 0.1% pay gap (industry comparison 14.7%).

These results are a testament to our dedication to gender equality which is a cornerstone of our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion strategy and reflect our commitment to providing equal opportunities and fair treatment for all employees, irrespective of gender.

To underscore this commitment, we have developed and implemented a comprehensive Gender Equality Strategy and Action Plan for the period 2023-2024. This strategic roadmap outlines specific, tangible actions to enhance gender equality within our workplace, including targeted training programs and a flexibility framework aimed at addressing the root causes of gender disparities and promoting a culture of inclusivity.

Recognising the crucial role of gender diversity in leadership positions, both on the Board and across our organisation, we actively strive towards achieving a 40/40/20 gender balance across all classifications. We understand that diverse leadership not only fosters innovation and creativity but also contributes to improved decision-making processes.

In addition to past achievements, we are committed to continuously reviewing and refining our employee value proposition, remuneration strategies, recruitment practices, and flexible working arrangements to ensure our practices align with our gender equality goals and support our people in balancing their careers with other obligations.

Understanding that true gender equality requires sustained effort, we are dedicated to creating an inclusive workplace where every employee feels valued, respected, and has equal opportunities for success.
